Original poems

Now

If I breathe in deeply

And pay attention to the depth

When I blend into the pause at the end

I find

That the world outside falls away

As if there were no such thing as

Today

The pause becomes the now

And the only

And suddenly

I’m wide open

There is space

For miracles to present their winking eyes

For the stars of my mind to blink brighter than they ever could

In yesterday or tomorrow

The now holds the space

For the inspiration to flourish

Like the first almond blossom in spring

And the last snowflake to brush against the hardened earth in winter

It all happens in a single precious moment

The realisation

That everything I could ever want

Could ever need

Could ever be

Is here

And now

And in nowhere else

A Love Poem

I don’t want a ring

I want a promise

Not a promise that you’ll love me forever,

Because who would I be to force you to love me?

A forced heart never truly belongs or finds a happy home

I want you to promise that you’ll always be you

And stay true to you

Promise that you’ll be free

Allow me too, to be me

So that we can be not one

But two

Who choose to be

Hand in hand on this journey

Alongside the other

Two melodies playing in a symphony

Sometimes knocking each other off beat,

But always falling back to the same key

I don’t want a big day

I want every day

Every day to love each shade of you

Every rose red

Every violet blue

And if I can promise anything to you

It’s that I’ll always be me too

And if our paths ever lead us apart

And we have to turn a thousand corners

I will walk down every lonely road

Until it leads me back

To you
